Join ORIMA Research as a Graduate Research Assistant in Canberra, working on quantitative data analysis and research projects for government clients. Your Role Key responsibilities include: Designing quantitative research methodologies such as survey design Analysing and interpreting quantitative data using tools like SPSS, Q, R, and Excel Producing and analysing charts and descriptive statistics Organising and conducting research fieldwork, including quantitative surveys Project management and coordination Problem solving, drawing insights from findings, and report writing Collaborating across research disciplines and participating in graduate projects with peers About You The company is looking for candidates with: Australian Citizen, New Zealand Citizen, or Permanent Resident status Graduate or postgraduate qualifications in relevant fields with data applications (e.g., Psychological Sciences, Statistics, Business, Commerce, Actuarial Studies, Marketing) Strong academic record (HD average or WAM over 80) Knowledge of research methodologies and experience with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel Experience with statistical software such as SPSS and Q Understanding of descriptive and inferential statistics including regression and factor analysis Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and programming languages (e.g., R, Python, SQL) is desirable Strong professional skills including attention to detail, problem-solving, time management, and organisation Effective verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment Capability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with a positive and professional attitude Motivation for continual learning, intellectual rigour, and interest in public sector research and consulting Compensation & Benefits Salary: $66,000 plus 12% superannuation Interesting research projects Comprehensive on-the-job training Buddy program with previous graduates Learning from skilled, qualified professionals Regular social events and celebrations Access to Employee Assistance Program Annual off-site conference/retreat Training & Development The graduate program offers: Formal training and development in quantitative and qualitative research skills Technical and non-technical skill development for a career in market and social research Supportive, strengths-based culture underpinned by positive psychology principles Opportunities to collaborate across projects and disciplines Career Progression After 12 months of employment and subject to manager assessment, progression to Associate Research Consultant or Associate Data Analyst is available.
