AOPA Portfolio Assessors EOI The Australian Orthotic Prosthetic Association (AOPA) is inviting Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified orthotist / prosthetists to join our panel of Portfolio Assessors. Portfolio Assessors contribute to implementing fair and consistent certification process by reviewing the portfolios of internationally trained orthotist / prosthetists against the About the Role Portfolio Assessors are responsible for reviewing submissions from internationally trained orthotist / prosthetists. The assessment determines whether applicants demonstrate competency required for entry-level certification, assessed against the. Portfolio assessments involve Reviewing submitted documented evidence, such as structured case summaries, funding documentation samples, reflective practice justifications and other evidence Mapping the provided evidence against the AOPA Competency Standards Providing clear, objective assessor comments and feedback to applicants where required Recommending an outcome to the Accreditation Committee Completing assessments within required timeframes This work is suited to experienced practitioners who are interested in contributing to the quality, safety and future direction of the orthotic / prosthetic profession in Australia. Eligibility Criteria Hold current AOPA Certification (cOP-AOPA) Have at least 3 years of post-certification clinical experience Demonstrate strong knowledge of orthotic / prosthetic clinical practice Have familiarity with, or willingness to develop expertise in, the AOPA Entry-Level Competency Standards Highly desirable experience includes Supervising students, new graduates or early-career clinicians Experience in assessment, moderation or competency-based education Prior involvement in quality improvement, service governance or professional standards work Experience working with culturally diverse or international practitioners Commitment Required Ability to assess portfolios as needed, depending on submission volume Completion of assessments within agreed timeframes (usually 4-10 weeks) Participation in calibration and standardisation activities to support fairness, consistency and high-quality assessment Occasional availability for virtual meetings or email correspondence Estimated workload A portfolio typically requires 2–6 hours to review, depending on complexity. Assessors may nominate their capacity (e.g., 1–3 portfolios per quarter). Remuneration This is a paid position. Portfolio Assessors receive a file fee for ($360-$500) each assessment completed depending on the turnaround time which is paid upon submission of assessor documentation to AOPA.
