About The Role We are seeking an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team in Ballarat. In this role, you'll provide life‑changing support to participants within our aged and disability care programs, working in diverse settings including homes, community centres, and care facilities. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBAs) to identify the underlying causes of challenging behaviours Develop and implement person‑centred Behaviour Support Plans using the Positive Behaviour Support framework with function‑based strategies Deliver one‑on‑one and group‑based interventions to support clients in achieving their goals Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including support workers, allied health professionals, families, and carers to coordinate holistic care Provide coaching, training, and guidance to staff and support networks on effective behaviour management strategies Ensure compliance with NDIS guidelines, including the review and reduction of restrictive practices where applicable Collect and analyse data to monitor progress and evaluate the effectiveness of behaviour support plans Maintain detailed client records and contribute to the organisation's continuous improvement initiatives Essential Requirements NDIS registration as a Behaviour Support Practitioner – deemed ‘Proficient’ or above against the PBS Capability Framework (evidence of letter of suitability from the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission required) Demonstrated experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner in the aged care or disability sectors Strong understanding of contemporary Positive Behaviour Support principles and evidence-based practices Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse client groups and their support networks Proven ability to develop and implement comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans Thorough knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and industry standards (including NDIS guidelines) Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel within the local area as required NDIS Workers Screening Check – Clearance Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain) Desirable Qualities Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively A positive, flexible, and person‑centred approach to work Commitment to personal and professional growth Experience with clinical documentation and MS Office applications A relevant tertiary qualification (Bachelor’s degree or higher) in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Nursing, Behavioural Science, or a related field What We Offer Competitive remuneration package Superannuation contributions Flexible working arrangements to support work‑life balance Opportunities for professional development and continuous learning Clinical supervision and mentoring support Access to health and wellbeing initiatives The opportunity to work with a passionate and dedicated team The satisfaction of making a genuine difference in the lives of our clients Ready to Make an Impact?
