Senior Incident Response Operations Coordinator Department of Government Services – Melbourne VIC The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. We bring important day‑to‑day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services. About the role The Senior Incident Response Operations Coordinator is a key member of the Victorian Government Cyber Incident Response Service (CIRS). Reporting to the Senior Manager, Victorian Government CIRS, the role is responsible for coordinating operational activities to support the wider CIRS team through all stages of the incident response cycle to support operational and strategic decision making. The Senior Incident Response Operations Coordinator will play a key role in coordinating diverse functions, ensuring operational efficiency, and managing day‑to‑day reporting activities. The role will be required to provide detailed advice as well as contribute to strategic planning, and program and project management. The role supports the Senior Manager, CIRS to deliver a sustainable, high‑performing service and ensure seamless operations. The position requires strong initiative, professional drive and integrity – including the ability to manage competing deadlines during periods of heightened operational tempo. About you To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate: Proven ability to coordinate and support multiple functions or teams in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment while managing competing priorities. Understanding of cyber incident response operations for government, including working with and applying cyber security frameworks. Well‑developed written and verbal communication skills; ability to confidently convey complex concepts and information and meet the needs of targeted audiences within government and externally. Proven ability to identify and initiate activities that support continuous improvement of work plans, policies and procedures including advising management on operational collaborations and contributions toward strategic planning. Collaboration and influencing skills, with a proven record of supporting and maintaining relationships across government and industry sectors and working with stakeholders to deliver agreed objectives.
