About The Role This position is offered on a permanent part‑time basis working 3 consecutive days / week (21 hours). Located at Uniting's Counselling and Mediation Centre in Penrith. Need to be available to work on Thursdays from 10am – 6pm and Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9am – 5pm. As a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP), you’ll provide FDR to families’ post‑separation who are experiencing various levels of conflict and are unable to reach agreements about children or property. Online video appointments, legally‑assisted mediation and child‑inclusive practice are examples of Uniting’s innovative FDR practices. You will be working with a dynamic team of FDRPs and therapists to support families holistically. About You Accredited by the Australian Attorney‑General’s Department (AGD) as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, or eligible for accreditation. Applicants who are unsure of eligibility should contact the AGD Practitioner Accreditation Unit. Uniting will require evidence of eligibility. Tertiary qualifications in law, psychology or social work. An understanding of the process and purpose of child‑inclusive mediation practice. Knowledge of family law legislation. Knowledge and understanding of community services, especially those relating to families experiencing relationship difficulties. \ Understanding child protection issues. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as be able to contribute to the functioning of the team. Excellent communication, organisation and writing skills. Computer literacy.
