Data Analysis and Surgical Outcomes (DASO) Unit Manager We’re seeking an experienced and motivated Manager to lead the Data Analysis Surgical Outcome (DASO) Unit at Royal North Shore Hospital - a unique high-performing, forward-thinking team that drives excellence across surgical data management, research, and innovation. Employment Type : Permanent Full Time Position Classification : Health Manager Level 2 Remuneration : $2,189.62 - $2,583.61 per week Hours Per Week : 38 Requisition ID : REQ Where you'll be working The DASO Unit is part of the Surgical Education Research and Training (SERT) Institute at Royal North Shore Hospital. What You'll Be Doing The Data Analysis & Surgical Outcomes (DASO) Unit Manager is responsible for the professional co-ordination of all data managers within the Division of Surgery & Anaesthesia (DoSA); including both indirect reports within existing DoSA Departments and Services; and direct reports employed within the DASO Unit. The DASO Unit Manager will work collaboratively with all DoSA data personnel, Heads of Departments, DoSA Executive and the Director of the Surgical Education, Research & Training (SERT) Institute to develop a sustainable data and information infrastructure to support the Division. This includes the management and maintenance of reliable and comprehensive long term databases and information systems focusing on patient clinical outcomes; service operational systems; and research aspects of patient care for the Surgical Services at RNSH. The DASO Unit Manager is also responsible for developing relationships and working collaboratively with a range of key stakeholders including Clinical Governance, NSLHD Performance Unit and Health Information Services to achieve the goals of DoSA and NSLHD in terms of improving patient outcomes. Qualifications in a relevant area which includes health information management, health informatics, biostatistics/statistics, clinical coding, science; or relevant work experience. Demonstrated advanced skills in data extraction, reporting and analysis in health systems and experience in the design, implementation and maintenance of IT-enabled health solutions into a clinical environment. Demonstrated highly developed oral and written communication and presentation- skills including stakeholder engagement and managerial experience; including the ability to train and supervise staff to use multiple applications to collect, verify and report data. Demonstrated self-directedness and problem solving skills; with capacity to successfully manage diverse, complex and competing priorities. Need more information?
