About us BME NQ is a busy marine fabrication workshop in Portsmith, Cairns. We build 12m+ aluminium commercial vessels, custom projects and government craft. Due to strong forward work, we're looking for an experienced Lead Aluminium Marine Boat Builder to Supervise the boat-building side of the business. Candidates must have Australian work authorisation at the time of application. About the role Take ownership of the aluminium boat-building area – from hull fabrication through to fit‑out Lead, mentor and coordinate a team of fabricators, TA's and apprentices Extensive team leadership experience managing large teams of 9+ members is essential. Plan work, allocate labour and help keep builds on schedule and on budget Read and interpret drawings, nesting plans and build specs Maintain quality standards and sign off key stages of construction Work closely with management, design, stores and clients as required Jump on the tools when needed, especially for critical or complex work Aluminium welding experience is required for hands‑on fabrication work when needed. Minimum 6-8 years of aluminium marine boat building experience is a must. Candidates must have proven experience building vessels of 12m+ in length. #J-18808-Ljbffr
