About the Job Google Photos is a photo sharing and storage service optimized for billions of users. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will design and build large‑scale, performant, and high‑quality iOS applications that power the Photos experience. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. 8 years of experience in design and architecture with testing or launching software products. 5 years of experience with programming in Objective‑C or Swift. 5 years of experience with iOS application development. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role with leading project teams and setting technical direction. 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms. 3 years of experience working on cross‑functional or cross‑business projects. Experience in back‑end coding languages such as Go, Rust, or Java. Responsibilities Provide technical leadership on projects. Mentor a distributed team of engineers. Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions. Understand iOS and the Photos iOS code base, ensuring quality solutions across the team.
