Qualified Gardener – Westgate Park Port Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Overview Serco invites you to join the Parks & Gardens team at Westgate Park as a Qualified Gardener. In this role you will maintain and enhance outdoor spaces, supporting the community and improving the experience for residents and visitors. Responsibilities Follow guidance from the Head Gardener to deliver daily horticultural tasks. Maintain parks, gardens and bushland landscapes, including granitic paths and tractor mowing. Ensure all work is completed safely and professionally. Undertake environmental tasks such as herbicide application, hand weeding, brush‑cutting and footpath care. Maintain vehicles, tools and equipment to manufacturer standards. Report accidents, incidents and near‑misses promptly. Provide a clean, safe public environment through daily litter removal, waste management, minor graffiti removal and bio‑hazard response. Qualifications Strong knowledge of local plant and weed species. Experience maintaining parks, gardens, reserves or bushland environments. Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with your team. Confidence using and maintaining horticultural machinery and tools. Ability to complete outdoor physical work in varying weather. Employee Working With Children Check (or ability to obtain). Practical experience in environmental care, weed management or pesticide application (advantageous).
