About the role Based in Tasmania’s rugged Northwest coast at the Arthur River Field Centre on the Arthur-Pieman Conservation Area, you will assist the Ranger in Charge with the management of the field centre operations and resources. Your role will support the conservation and visitor experience in an area dominated by parabolic dunes, rocky headlands, reefs, wild rivers, and expansive beaches. Responsibilities Conduct assessments, develop plans, and coordinate staff to deliver works programmes. Develop and implement projects, including the West Coast Off‑Road Vehicle Project and the Edge of the World redevelopment. Engage with stakeholders to resolve complex land‑management issues and raise public understanding of the Parks and Wildlife Service’s role and services. Undertake fire‑management activities, including suppression operations. Qualifications Experience as a ranger and/or in natural values management. Ability to live and work in remote locations. Strong planning and organisational skills to develop and implement works programmes. Supervisory experience and ability to build effective working relationships. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in fire management. What we offer On‑site accommodation with new housing being built for the incumbent.
