Group Risk and Compliance Manager

This highly collaborative role is at the core of spearheading a strong compliance and risk management culture. The ability to effectively partner with each business unit to assess, monitor, and mitigate risks and support the various regulatory compliance obligations will be key.Key Duties and responsibilities include:Stay updated on all legislation, standards and regulations that apply to HMC Group’s businesses with a particular focus on workplace health and safetySupport each business unit to understand their various compliance work health and safety obligationsDevelop and implement a workplace health and safety policy that incorporates appropriate controls to mitigate health and safety risksContinuous improvement of policy, processes, systems and trainingDevelopment and ongoing maintenance of the enterprise risk management frameworkFacilitate a strong culture of awareness and compliance across the Group through the development and delivery of regular training and other awareness initiativesComplete safety investigations and review safety investigations conducted by other safety investigators to ensure the adequacy of the investigation, report and closure of findings in a timely mannerMaintain an effective hazard and incident reporting framework based on 'Just Culture' principles and personnel engagementPrepare and submit regular reports on key safety, risk and compliance indicators for safety committee meetings, the Board and business unit leaders.Coordinate with external auditors and regulators as requiredAbout you:Extensive experience in a similar positionPrevious aviation experience is not essentialTertiary qualification in Workplace Health and Safety or equivalentDemonstrated experience in creating strategies and implementing operational initiatives that assess risk and support the organisation in the mitigation and management of operational and strategic riskExpert knowledge of contemporary safety issues and best practices, coupled with a deep understanding of statutory framework governing safety and riskExperience in the development and implementation of risk management frameworks.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate in a confident and positive manner in both a written and verbal capacityAnalytical mind and excellent problem-solving skills, able to interpret various regulatory requirements and standards and devise solutions that balance competing risk and compliance requirements with operational objectivesAbility to travel domestically, mostly within WA as requiredTo apply, please submit your CV together with a cover letter addressing your suitability for the position.
