Engine Reconditioner

Engine Reconditioner / Machinist Mechanics Choice, a leading automotive repair and maintenance provider, is seeking a skilled Engine Reconditioner / Machinist to join our team in Maitland, NSW. This full‑time role is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high‑quality engine reconditioning services to our valued customers. What you'll be doing Disassemble, inspect, and diagnose engine components to determine the appropriate repair or reconditioning measures. Perform precision machining and fabrication tasks to bring engine components back to manufacturer specifications. Rebuild cylinder heads primarily; some cylinder boring/honing, block decking, conrod resizing and cleaning of components. Ensure all work is completed to the highest quality standards and in compliance with industry regulations. Provide expert advice and guidance to customers on engine‑related issues and solutions. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Assist with other workshop duties as required. What we’re looking for Minimum 3 years’ experience as an engine reconditioner or machinist in an automotive workshop or repair facility. Strong technical knowledge and practical skills in engine reconditioning, including machining, fabrication, and rebuild processes. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, and specifications. Excellent problem‑solving and diagnostic skills to identify and resolve complex engine issues. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high‑quality work. Good communication skills to liaise with customers and team members.
