Role: AI Assurance and Safety Officer Role closing: 5th December. Brisbane CBD based – open to Brisbane based candidates only Engagement until June 2026, part time (2 days/week) 2× 6-month extensions Government sector About the role Are you passionate about shaping the future of ethical AI? We are seeking an experienced professional to lead strategic initiatives that ensure the safe and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence across government. Key Responsibilities Act as a subject matter expert on ethical and safe AI practices. Develop and implement frameworks, policies, and guidelines for responsible AI use. Lead strategic AI projects ensuring compliance with ethical standards, human rights, and privacy regulations. Conduct risk assessments and assurance activities to mitigate AI-related risks. Collaborate with stakeholders to promote awareness and capability in responsible AI practices. Required Skill Set Strong expertise in AI ethics, governance, and risk management preferably within public/government sector. Proven ability to lead strategic projects and influence stakeholders. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. High-level written and verbal communication skills. Ability to stay ahead of emerging AI trends and technologies.
