Due to company growth, we are looking for an aluminium MIG welder to join our busy manufacturing facility in Carrum Downs, VIC. Responsibilities Analyse technical blueprints, schematics, and welding specifications to determine precise job requirements for aluminium welding projects. Collaborate with engineers and project managers to clarify design intentions and address potential fabrication challenges. Set up, operate, and maintain MIG welding equipment, tools, and machinery, adhering to all safety protocols. Calibrate welding parameters, including voltage and wire feed speed, to achieve optimal results based on material type and thickness. Execute high‑quality MIG welding on aluminium components, ensuring clean, durable, and structurally sound welds. Inspect and test welded components to verify alignment, structural integrity, and compliance with client specifications and quality standards. Conduct grinding, sanding, and finishing operations to ensure smooth welds and polished surfaces, achieving aesthetically pleasing results. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on welding equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimise downtime. Maintain accurate production and welding records, reporting any discrepancies or operational challenges to supervisors. Qualifications At least a Certificate III related to Fabrication/Welding. At least one year work experience as a metal fabricator/welder. Good working attitude and attention to detail. Must be able to read engineering drawings, assemble and weld parts to quality standards. Able to meet targets set by the supervisor. Take pride in your work and the ability to work with precise measurements. Be reliable and hardworking.
