With people at the heart of what we do and a commitment to child safety, ageing well and supporting people with disability, we work to increase inclusion, independence and decision‑making, and help our communities when it matters most. Our Disability and Specialised Services Division provides valuable support to the South Australian community through direct service delivery, inclusion policy and sector reform work. As a registered NDIS provider, they provide SIL services that supervise and help with everyday tasks to support people living with disability to live as independently as possible. The Division also encompasses quality and clinical services and the DHS Equipment Program. The Disability and Specialised Services Division is seeking applications from emerging leaders to join the annual leave backfill pool for Supported Independent Living (SIL) Area Managers (ASO7). This pool will provide coverage for current Area Managers’ leave over the next 12 months, with two immediate opportunities: Mawson Lakes: 24 December 2025 – 30 January 2026 Daw Park: Mid‑February 2026 – Late March 2026 The Area Manager is accountable to the Assistant Director – Disability Community Services for: Leading the provision of a high standard of customer service to participants of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and other key stakeholders, in accordance with NDIS Practice Standards, and other relevant practice and industry standards Delivering comprehensive, safe and high quality, capacity building support and development to people with a disability within a designated region Developing and implementing within a financial budget, responsive service structures and programs for the coordination of Supported Independent Living (SIL) services Developing and implementing high quality plans for the development and maintenance of an effective and integrated accommodation options and lifestyle Leadership, supervision, performance management and effective deployment of staff This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring leaders who are eager to: Develop and strengthen their leadership skills Gain experience managing a large workforce (approximately 200 staff) Support 70–80 people with disabilities under the NDIS framework Drive positive change and improve the lives of the people we support If you are passionate about leadership and making a meaningful impact, we encourage you to apply. Must hold a current Australian issued driver’s licence (equivalent to minimum class C). The pool will operate for a period of up to twelve (12) months and recommended applicants will be eligible for employment opportunities during this period.
