Finance Business Partner/ Accountant

The Opportunity The Management Accountant plays a critical role in supporting financial performance, operational excellence, and strategic decision‑making. This position is responsible for preparing, analysing management reports, ensuring accuracy of financial data, maintaining cost controls, and delivering timely insights to improve profitability and efficiency across the group. The Position This role will be emersed in the engineering and manufacturing teams working alongside the manager of the division to oversee the end‑to‑end accounting function for allocated entities and divisions, ensure compliance with statutory and group reporting requirements, and provide financial advice that supports commercial decision‑making. The role requires strong commercial acumen, analytical capability, and the ability to partner effectively with operational business units. Responsibilities Prepare monthly management accounts and variance analysis. Analyse performance by site, product line, and department to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Develop and maintain cost and margin analysis frameworks to support strategic decisions. Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for management and stakeholders. Accounts Reconciliation and General Ledger Management Manage month‑end close, journal entries, and reconciliations to ensure accurate, timely financial records. Investigate and resolve discrepancies to maintain data integrity. Budgeting, Forecasting, and Planning Lead preparation of annual budgets and forecasts. Support the CFO in scenario analysis and sensitivity modelling. Collaborate with managers to align financial objectives with operational goals. Inventory and Cost Management Monitor cost structures and implement initiatives to enhance efficiency and financial performance. Analyse direct and indirect costs to ensure budget and profitability alignment. Support automation, efficiency, and working capital improvement projects. Compliance Ensure accurate calculation, reporting, and submission of GST and other tax obligations. Maintain tax compliance and liaise with auditors and consultants as required. Who we are looking for We are looking for an experienced Management Accountant within the manufacturing and or engineering industry looking for a large SA employer where you can work closely with leadership and management to assist in the growth of the organisation and an everchanging landscape. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or equivalent preferred). 3 to 5 years proven experience as a Management Accountant preferably within manufacturing industry Strong financial analysis and budgeting skills Advanced understanding of company accounting principals Proficiency in accounting software and advanced MS Excel skills. Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem‑solving skills. Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
