Peduba Cleaning Services is seeking a qualified and experienced Chemical Engineer to join its growing operations. The successful candidate will play a critical role in developing, optimising, and managing chemical process systems and formulations that support Peduba’s cleaning and hygiene services. The role involves close technical coordination with Global Chemical Australia, the group’s manufacturing arm, to design, test, and refine production systems for cleaning and sanitising products used in Peduba’s daily operations. Task & responsibilities Design, develop, and optimise chemical process systems for the formulation and production of cleaning and sanitising chemicals used across Peduba’s service operations. Prepare detailed process specifications, flow diagrams, and equipment layouts to support chemical production and process improvement. Collaborate with production team to translate laboratory-scale formulations into full-scale manufacturing processes. Monitor process parameters, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain efficiency and quality. Conduct research and testing to improve product performance, safety, and environmental compliance. Ensure all production systems and formulations comply with Australian WHS, chemical safety, and environmental standards. Manage raw materials and process inputs to improve cost efficiency and product consistency. Oversee the safe operation, calibration, and maintenance of chemical process equipment. Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), process specifications, and compliance records. Tests and optimizes urea-to-water ratios, pH, temperature, and viscosity to ensure correct AdBlue concentration and quality, conducting pilot-scale trials and process adjustments to enhance product stability and performance. Support the training of staff in safe handling and application of cleaning products. Participate in hazard and operability (HAZOP) studies and risk assessments related to chemical processes. Provide engineering advice to management on process improvements, innovation, and sustainability initiatives. Qualification & experience Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline (required). 1- 3 years of relevant professional experience in a chemical, manufacturing, or process engineering role. Sound knowledge of process design, chemical formulation, and production systems. Experience with industrial hygiene, sanitation, or cleaning chemical processes/products will be highly regarded. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quality assurance skills. Excellent communication, teamwork, and time management abilities. Commitment to safety, environmental sustainability, and regulatory compliance.
