Social Worker - North Coast Region Queensland Government Are you passionate about supporting schools in delivering early intervention and preventative therapeutic interventions to students? The Student Wellbeing Program is looking for Social Workers to work across a number of schools providing therapeutic interventions to students with mild to moderate mental health concerns and lead initiatives to promote positive mental health and wellbeing within school communities. About The Student Wellbeing Program The Student Wellbeing Program ensures that every Queensland state primary and secondary school has access to a qualified wellbeing professional. As part of this program, student wellbeing professionals work within existing school student support teams to provide targeted assistance for students experiencing mild to moderate mental health concerns. Responsibilities Include Conduct biopsychosocial assessments, develop therapeutic plan and provide ongoing evidence-based interventions to students and their families. Support and work collaboratively with caregivers, school staff and stakeholder groups to enhance student wellbeing and learning outcomes. Promote positive mental health within the school community. In accordance with the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 a person is prohibited from working in regulated child-related employment unless the person holds a current Working with Children Check clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.
