Period of Appointment Appointment to the role is on a fixed-term, part-time basis (44.1 hours per fortnight) for 12 months. Duties Design, deliver, and evaluate a wide range of Tasmanian Aboriginal public programs, while supporting the priorities, goals and objectives of TMAG. Maintain and develop appropriate cultural protocols for the delivery of Tasmanian Aboriginal programs. Identify and develop partnerships with external organisations engaged with learning about Tasmanian Aboriginal culture, including but not limited to schools and colleges. Liaise with the Tasmanian Aboriginal community to explore and encourage pathways to participate in museum activities, including co-designed programs and initiatives. Liaise with the Tasmanian Department of Education, Aboriginal Education Services Unit and schools and colleges to understand current Aboriginal educational priorities, including relevant Closing the Gap initiatives. Provide advice and information to TMAG’s Tasmanian Aboriginal Advisory Council (TAAC) and the TMAG First Peoples Roadmap Working Group. Actively contribute to a team-based approach to program and project development within TMAG’s First people’s Art and Culture team and TMAG’s Public Programs and Learning team. In tandem with TMAG Communications, engage with media opportunities and interest in TMAG’s Tasmanian First People’s educational initiatives and products.
