Leader - Head of Religious Education ~ MacKillop Catholic College, Mount Peter Catholic Education Diocese of Cairns – Professional positions – Mount Peter QLD $86,600 - $137,750 a year Full time, Contract – 3 year fixed term Commencing: Term 1 2026 – 19th January 2026 Closing Date for Applications: 12.00pm, Wednesday 14th January 2026 (unless filled prior) About the Role The Leader - Head of Religious Education provides leadership in Religious Education, including the teaching of Religion, according to Cairns Catholic Education policies and practices and QCAA requirements. The role holder works as part of a collaborative team to promote our Catholic culture and faith formation of staff. The role holder also facilitates and supports student engagement in Religion and outreach. Middle Leaders are accountable to and under the direction of the College Principal. Mandatory Qualifications and Requirements Formal qualifications at Degree level in Education. Registered or eligible to register with Queensland College of Teachers. Leadership experience: Demonstrated ability in educational leadership. Demonstrated administrative ability. Demonstrated skills in interpersonal relationships. Willingness to achieve Accreditation to Teach in a Catholic School and Accreditation to Teach Religion in a Catholic School (Teachers of Religious Education). Willingness to support and participate in the prayer, liturgy and sacramental life of the Church in the school community. Capacity to understand and implement Duty of Care and Workplace Health and Safety requirements. Current drivers licence. A strong demonstrated commitment to the objectives, vision, and ethos of Catholic Education. Promote child safety at all times. Work Requirements Be registered or eligible to be registered with Queensland College of Teachers. Be fully supportive of the ethos of Catholic Education.
