The Role The Production Manager - Packing is responsible for overseeing the packaging operations within the beverage and DFP production facilities to ensure products are packaged efficiently, safely, and in accordance with quality and regulatory standards. This role manages packaging teams, coordinates with other departments, ensures optimal use of equipment and materials, and leads continuous improvement initiatives across all packaging processes. Role Responsibilities Lead and manage all aspects of the packaging function, ensuring timely, high-quality, and cost-effective packaging of products. Develop and maintain packaging schedules aligned with production plans and customer requirements. Supervise, train, and support packaging staff to foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Ensure packaging operations comply with regulatory, safety, and quality standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP, ISO). Manages the financial cost within this cost centre, providing monthly forecast updates and optimising costs, efficiencies, yields, and wastage. Monitor equipment performance and coordinate with maintenance to reduce downtime and improve reliability. Optimize packaging material and liquid material usage to reduce waste and control costs without compromising quality or safety. Evaluate and recommend new packaging equipment, technologies, or materials for process enhancement and sustainability goals. Participate and lead NPD projects within packaging to ensure projects are developed and implemented successfully. Requirements: Strong science, engineering or dairy industry diploma level qualification.
