We care for thousands of children each year in our hospitals and in their homes — with one purpose in mind — to help young people live their healthiest lives What you'll be doing The Nutrition and Dietetic Department aims to work in partnership to advocate for optimised nutrition for children through evidence based clinical care, education, research and leadership. We specialise in addressing the unique nutritional needs of children from neonates to adolescents, across a range of clinical domains. Our primary aim is to optimise the growth and nutritional status of all children with chronic and complex medical conditions. The Nutrition Assistants are part of the Nutrition Support Team, and provide services to inpatients every day (including weekends and public holidays) by operating on a rotating roster between the hours of 6am and 6.30pm. This position rotates between the Diet Office, producing, collating and distributing menus using CBORD Menu Management system, and the Formula Room, preparing infant formula and enteral feeds for patients. It involves liaison with both hospital patients/families and hospital staff, and working closely with Food Services. About You Completion of Health Service Assistance (Nutrition and Dietetic Support) Certificate III or equivalent or food science/nutrition graduate qualification. Ability to work on a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays, between the hours of 6am and 6.30pm. Intermediate computer skills such as familiarity with Microsoft Office and/or other programs/databases.
