We’re looking for experienced Field Service Fitters to join our Cairns team to support our customers in the Marine, Power Generation, Transport and Civil Industries. These are Permanent, Full-Time opportunities working a 9-day fortnight. What you’ll be doing As a Field Service Fitter at Hastings Deering, you will : Get out on site - travel to specific site projects to provide hands-on support and assist customers with machine maintenance, breakdowns, diagnostics and warranty repairs. Take on the big jobs - carry out scheduled engine rebuilds, repairs, and general servicing. Keep the wheels turning - minimise production downtime by getting equipment back up and running quickly and safely. Deliver real value - provide quality service that helps customers boost the performance and reliability of their CAT gear. We’re seeking dedicated tradespeople who bring : Trade Qualification – Cert III Engineering (Diesel Fitters – preferred, Automotive Mechanics, Mechanical Fitters, Fitter & Turners or Mechanical trades). Demonstrated experience on industrial engines and experience in the marine sector is preferred / highly favorable. Strong fault finding and diagnostic ability. Dedicated commitment and adherence to health and safety policy and procedure. High level of initiative, reliability and ability to work independently. A customer driven focus and commitment to continuous improvement.
