The Clinical Nurse – Stomal Therapy provides integral care to patients across Mater Hospital Brisbane and Mater Mothers’ Hospital who are living with stomas and complex wounds. This position is central to delivering high-quality, compassionate, and evidence‑based nursing care—supporting both patients and clinical staff through education, expert advice, and coordination of care. In this rewarding clinical leadership role, you will: Provide specialist stomal therapy and complex wound management for inpatients and outpatients. Deliver direct patient care, assessment, and education to patients and their families, empowering them in their care journey. Offer expert advice, support, and education to nursing and medical staff across Mater Hospital Brisbane and Mater Mothers’ Hospital. Coordinate nursing activities to ensure continuity of care and excellence in clinical outcomes. Promote and uphold Mater’s standards of safety, quality, and clinical governance through evidence‑based practice. Contribute to ongoing professional development by mentoring colleagues and supporting quality improvement initiatives. About you You are a compassionate and skilled nurse who takes pride in delivering patient‑centred care and supporting others to do the same. You will bring: Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA). A minimum of five years’ experience in an adult hospital setting. Postgraduate qualification in Stomal Therapy (or currently working towards completion). Demonstrated expertise in wound care and stomal management. Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
