About The Role Reporting to the Manager, IT Strategy & Operations and based out of Melbourne or Sydney, the Network Operations Team Lead is responsible for leading the planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of enterprise network operations. This role provides both hands‑on technical leadership and operational oversight, ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of InfraBuild’s network services that underpin mission‑critical business operations. The position manages and mentors a high‑performing team of network engineers, driving performance, capability development, and alignment with business priorities. It provides tier 3/2 escalation support and technical validation, while ensuring effective incident, problem, and change management processes are followed. The role provides administrative and technical leadership across all network infrastructure technologies, including WAN, LAN, SD‑WAN, VPN, wireless, firewalls, voice, internet, and data centre connectivity, ensuring integrity, continuity, and resilience across the organisation. Key Responsibilities Demonstrate strong leadership presence in both day‑to‑day operations and during major incidents, ensuring pro‑active ownership and timely resolution Oversee the design, implementation, operation and optimization of enterprise‑wide wired and wireless networks, including WAN, LAN, SD‑WAN, VPN, data centre connectivity, firewalls, internet, and voice services Ensure effective planning and delivery of upgrades, lifecycle management and operational resilience initiatives Embed IT security best practices across all network operations, collaborating with the Cyber Security team to manage vulnerabilities, risks and incidents Ensure compliance with organisational governance standards, regulatory frameworks and audit requirements Establish trusted relationships with IT leadership, business partners and vendor partners, ensuring alignment of network services to business priorities and enterprise architecture Manage external services providers and vendors, ensuring delivery against SLAs, contract performance and cost efficiency Drive a culture of service excellence, proactive problem solving and continuous improvement Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience. Industry certifications such as Cisco CCNP (Enterprise, Security, Wireless) or equivalent vendor qualifications; Palo Alto, Fortinet, or SD‑WAN certifications highly regarded. ITIL certification (Foundation or higher) preferred, with demonstrated application of ITIL processes in a complex operational environment. Minimum of 7+ years’ experience managing enterprise network operations across WAN, LAN, wireless, firewalls, and data centre connectivity, including multi‑site, high‑availability environments. Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, and developing high‑performing technical teams, with the ability to balance operational workloads, incident response, and project delivery. Strong track record of owning and resolving critical incidents, coordinating across vendors and stakeholders, and driving problems through to closure. Proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, ensuring clear communication and alignment of network operations with business priorities. Knowledge of emerging network technologies, practices, and trends (e.g., SD‑WAN, Zero Trust, cloud networking), with the ability to assess and integrate them into enterprise environments.
