Ocius Technology is an Australian company dedicated to developing and deploying cutting‑edge Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USVs). Our vessels harness wind, solar and wave power to stay at sea and collect vital data for Defence and Civilian applications. We are under contract with RAN, RNZN and USA and are responding in an agile way to an ambitious program of building and deploying multiple USVs for operations across Australia and beyond. You will be joining a fast‑growing organisation contributing to nationally significant projects. About the Role The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for building a scalable, packageable and deployable Cloud Infrastructure to ensure safe, secure and ongoing operational excellence of the Bluebottle platform. This product will enable both us and our customers to operate a fleet of Bluebottles safely and securely, no matter the mission. The Engineering function is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the design of Ocius assets, particularly the Bluebottle platform, while actively responding to operational and production requirements to ensure continuous improvement. A typical day as our Cloud Engineer could include: Designing and deploying cloud infrastructure using IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) Building and testing cloud environments across Azure, AWS and GCP Developing CI/CD pipelines and automation using Git Documenting processes and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives Selection Criteria Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline Demonstrated experience developing, scaling and deploying cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP) Proven ability to design and deploy infrastructure using IaC tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation Strong understanding and implementation of security controls aligned with ISO27001 and DevSecOps principles Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipeline development and automation using Git Knowledge of network systems and secure connectivity in cloud environments If you are a strong communicator with an in‑depth understanding of and experience in developing robust, secure cloud solutions, we encourage you to apply.
