Mater Young Adult Support Unit, Mater Young Adult Health Centre Brisbane is looking for a Staff Specialist, Psychiatry to join the team. This maximum term (until July 2025), part-time role (20 hours per week) will be based at our South Brisbane campus.Salary: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900What you’ll be doingEnsure safe high quality care is delivered to every patient every timeWorks effectively in a team with adolescent medicine, psychology, social work, nursingContribution to medical governance specific to psychiatryInvolvement in the evidence-based identification and prioritisation of clinical practice improvements that ensure translation of research and evidence into practiceRecognises and addresses inefficiencies in own service provision, and continuously improves theseSupports a culture of research innovation and an environment that drives and actively encourages internationally recognised researchCommits to mentoring clinical professionals and supports undergraduate and postgraduate training as well as researchSupports the facility-based leaders in their analysis, monitoring and facilitation of compliance of the clinical workforce with relevant legislation, clinical standards, safety and quality systems and other statutory or contractual requirementsProvides mentoring to junior doctors using timely, consistent and clear communication that deepens interprofessional cohesion and engagement within and across teamsEffectively represents, negotiates with and influences colleagues and peers to catalyse and embed change outside own hierarchyEffectively manages key relationships across peers and clients throughout Mater, across service streams and functionsEnsures development and succession plans are in place and actioned for own role and those of direct reportsAbout youRegistration as a medical practitioner with AHPRAFellow of RANZCPAdvanced training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (desirable but not mandatory)Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary teamMater
