About The Role Role Type: Permanent, Full Time Role Location: Sydney, NSW As an Associate, Australian Bond Trading, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our Australian Rates Trading business. Your focus will be on supporting franchise trading activities within Australian Government and State Government Bond products, contributing directly to the achievement of strategic business objectives. You will work closely with senior bond traders, executing the Australian Rates Strategy across bond products, collaborating with our franchise and customer base to deliver market‑leading outcomes. This dynamic role offers an opportunity to apply your expertise in the bond market while collaborating with a high‑paced trading environment. Responsibilities Drive customer engagement: Foster strong sales/trading collaboration and deliver competitive, timely pricing while executing the Australian Rates strategy effectively. Maximise financial outcomes: Contribute to revenue growth, support cost management, and align with regional and global financial targets. Enhance electronic platform: Work closely with developers to evolve our pricing and risk capabilities. Analyse electronic data and present opportunities. Support senior traders: Learn and grow under the guidance of our senior traders, ensuring continuous desk coverage throughout the Australian trading session and hand‑over to our London desk each evening. Generate market insights: Deliver trading ideas and insights across the bond product suite to support strategic decision‑making. Promote risk awareness: Uphold a strong risk culture, ensuring limit management and compliance with internal and external requirements. Ensure professional conduct: Maintain collaborative and professional interactions across internal and external stakeholders. Champion compliance and culture: Adhere to governance, regulatory, and conduct standards while role‑modeling ANZ values and promoting a purpose‑driven culture. Qualifications Some trading, sales or enablement experience in a market business. 1–3 years of relevant experience. Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and requirements that ANZ Australian markets operate within. Experience dealing with internal and external clients, with strong customer focus and ability to drive results. Additional Experience (Preferred) In‑depth understanding of global fixed‑income markets. Track record of consistent revenue generation. Experience with e‑platform optimisation. Experience building and automating pricing models. Experience delivering tech uplifts and working on tech projects. Why Join Us?
