Director of Logistics Explosive Ordnance Reporting to the Director General Explosive Ordnance within Joint Logistics Command (JLC), the Director of Directorate of Logistics – Explosive Ordnance (DLOG-EO) is responsible for the management and operation of the JLC Class V storage and distribution network within the Defence Logistics Network. Key Responsibilities Prioritising resources to support the detailed planning for the Class V logistics requirements of ADF capabilities, which are currently accelerating and expanding. This includes delivery of new infrastructure with increasing requirements for assessing critical safety/security impacts, safety management systems and regulatory compliance. Explosive Ordnance Branch’s (EOB) lead for the management of the Defence owned Port of Point Wilson for the bulk importation and exportation of Class V explosive assets. Contract authority for governance and delivery of the $100 m per annum Explosive Ordnances Services Contract providing industry support to the warehousing and distribution of the Class V explosive inventory across Australia. EOB lead for the delivery of prioritised infrastructure sustainment for the JLC Class V network and the delivery of the explosive limit licensing function. About our Team DLOG-EO is a key planning and delivery agent in Joint Logistics Command. The Director position is broadly responsible for EOB’s established Class V explosives network including storage (Major Hazard Facilities), national distribution, ADF capability implementation planning, infrastructure sustainment and explosive limit licensing. To support this role the Director is designated Contract Authority for governance and delivery of the $100 m per annum Explosive Ordnances Services Contract providing industry support to the warehousing and distribution of the Class V explosive inventory across Australia. Our Ideal Candidate Advanced leadership and organisational skills. Proven ability to manage a diverse range of competing priorities. Advanced communication skills – written and oral. Extensive commercial acumen (including logistic and contract management skills). A strategic focus. Understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks that apply to dangerous goods. Understanding of Major Hazard Facility legislation. The ability to influence a range of stakeholder groups to achieve results. Experience working in a large organisation or government department.
