Your Role As a Building Regulations Officer, you’ll play a vital role in delivering customer-focused planning, building, and compliance services. You’ll provide expert technical guidance on building regulations and planning policies, ensuring high-quality assessments and determinations. Your Responsibilities Assessing Building Information Certificates Providing technical building and planning advice Addressing Swimming Pool Safety matters Preparing detailed assessment reports and documentation Engaging with stakeholders to promote compliance and safety Supporting continuous improvement in service delivery Who We’re Looking For We’re seeking a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in building regulations and a passion for community service. You’ll be confident working independently and collaboratively, with excellent communication and technical writing skills. Essential Tertiary qualification in environmental planning, building surveying, civil engineering, architecture, or a related field General Construction Induction Card (NSW) Class C Driver’s Licence Proven experience in certification / building surveying and assessing Development Applications or Complying Development Certificates Desirable Strong understanding of the National Construction Code and relevant planning legislation Ability to adapt to mobile inspection technologies Commitment to continuous learning and professional development Join our Team and Grow with Us If you are ready to take on a challenging and rewarding role that makes a real difference in the community, apply now to join our team at Sutherland Shire Council Apply by responding to our online application questions and submitting your resume outlining why we are a great fit Get your application in by 11.59pm : Wednesday 3rd December 2025. Hours of work : Permanent Full Time 35 hours per week, youwillhave the option of a 19 day month through Council’s flex system.
