Senior Geophysicist

THIS ROLE IS TO BASED IN SYDNEY - IF YOU WISH TO RE-LOCATE FOR THIS ROLE PLEASE APPLY.This role will see you enhance your capabilities and the reputation of WSP’s Geotechnical team. You will collaborate with talented professionals working on iconic projects to drive future ready outcomes that will benefit clients and communities.What you’ll do:Assist with project planning and preparation of technical deliverablesAssist in shallow ground geophysical surveys including seismic, electrical, magnetic, electromagnetic and GPR techniquesAssist in over water geophysical surveys including seismic reflection, refraction, resistivity, magnetic and bathymetry dataAssist with downhole geophysical logging including televiewers and seismic methodsManage fieldwork during geophysics investigations and help to ensure safety on site, whilst obtaining good quality information from a technical viewpointProcessing and interpretation of data using industry standard geophysical interpretation softwareIntegration of geophysical and geotechnical dataMaintenance and calibration of geophysical equipmentUse initiative and judgement to resolve problemsIdentify safety hazards and report OH&S incidentsLiaison with, and providing geophysicist support for specialists from other disciplines or offices within WSP.About you:Be located in Sydney or willing to re-locate to NSWBasic analytical and problem solving skills;Excellent written and verbal communication skills;Good time management ability;Good attention to detail;Ability to work efficiently autonomously and in a team environment; andProficiency in Microsoft Office suiteFlexibility to work in the field for extended period of times, sometimes in remote areasNZ/AUS passport holder only and willingness to travel abroadAustralian drivers licenseBachelor of Science of related discipline majoring in geophysicsPost Graduate qualification in geophysics is preferred but not essentialAbout WSPWSP is one of the world's leading engineering professional services firms, bringing together approximately 6,000 talented people across 15 offices in Australia.
