We have a long heritage of bringing innovation and expertise, continuously working to contribute to the growth of society and our customers.About the RoleWe are currently seeking a Legal Counsel with 6-8 years experience.This is a role that offers variety and a true business partnering opportunity across all our business units in Australia and NZ, key Fujitsu stakeholders, and our Fujitsu Clients. You will be involved with building strong internal and external client relationships.Reporting into our Head of Legal, Industries, you will have the opportunity to grow and become a respected member of the wider Legal Fujitsu Oceania Team. There is the flexibility of the role being based in either Sydney Brisbane Melbourne or Canberra with flexibility to work your own wayFurthermore, this role will see you be responsible for:Structures and negotiates new business. You will be providing advice on customer terms and conditions, providing guidance and direction to Fujitsu stakeholders to ensure the best commercial outcome.Drafting and reviewing contractual terms and contracts.Providing advice on privacy and data protection mattersAssist in the resolution of commercial and employment related disputes/claims and initiate/defend legal proceedings.Identify and advise on potential and actual legal risks and exposures and recommend appropriate action to minimise risk.About youTo succeed in this role you will have:A degree in law, with at least 6 years post qualification experience.A minimum 3 years legal experience as in house lawyer.Experience of working with Information Technology contracts including deal structures, contract review of terms and conditions and schedules and negotiation of IT contracts.Experience and knowledge of Privacy law.Ability to influence and demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skillsTeam player with personal credibilitySelf-starter, capable of working independently but willing to ask questions and for guidance when requiredTo be successful you must hold a current practising certificate for a relevant jurisdiction or be able to obtain one.This role is a unique mix of corporate transactional, privacy and general contract law work, this role provides an outstanding opportunity to develop your skills as an in-house lawyer and position yourself for future career success either in Australia or internationally.Why Fujitsu?We are an organisation with a strong set of values and a history of respecting fairness and equality, whilst promoting diversity, equity and inclusion.
