Job Description We currently have an opportunity for a Grade 3 Speech Pathologist available at Epworth Geelong, based in Waurn Ponds. This is a permanent part time role working 22.8 hours per week. This role offers the opportunity to assess, manage and provide client‑centred intervention to Epworth patients experiencing swallowing and communication impairments in a hospital setting. You will make an impact with your: Ability to assess and evaluate patients in relation to communication and swallowing abilities and upon diagnosis determine appropriate treatment Leading and participating in the supervision of Grade 2 and Casual Speech Pathologists, AHA's and students Strong knowledge within the assessment and management of swallowing and communication disorders and how these can have a direct impact on a patient’s overall health and quality of life. Ability to provide evidence‑based, patient‑centred care Ability to work collaboratively and confidently within the multidisciplinary team Strong time‑management, problem solving and prioritisation skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills To be successful in the role, you will have: Extensive clinical experience as a Speech Pathologist (minimum 7 years’ experience) Experience in administering and interpreting Swallowing Video Fluoroscopy Relevant experience in a hospital, rehabilitation or community setting Present with experience in tracheostomy management (preferred) Experience in administering and interpreting Fibreoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (preferred) Position Description Inherent Requirements About Epworth Geelong Epworth Geelong, located adjacent to Deakin University’s Medical School in Waurn Ponds, is developing an environment of world‑class health care and education to meet the needs of the expanding population of Geelong and South West Victoria.
