Role Overview The classroom teacher is responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering high‑quality teaching for a range of students and subjects, meeting specific student outcomes and contributing to the school’s educational priorities. Key Responsibilities Direct instruction of student groups and individual students. Develop, implement, and evaluate curriculum areas or programs. Undertake teaching‑related duties as directed by the School Principal. Participate in parent and teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions. Perform non‑teaching supervisory duties where required. Selection Criteria SC1: Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, literacy and numeracy integration, and response to student learning needs. SC2: Experience in planning and implementing high‑impact teaching strategies and evaluating their impact. SC3: Skilled in monitoring and assessing student learning, using data to inform practice, and providing feedback to students and parents. SC4: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the broader community. SC5: Demonstrated behaviours consistent with Department values, reflection on practice and engagement in professional learning. Qualification Requirements Provisional or full registration approved by the Victorian Institute of Teaching. Completion of an accredited post‑graduate initial teacher education program (if completed on or after 1 January 2024). Graduation from a Victorian Initial Teacher Education (ITE) programme after 1 July 2016, with proof of meeting the literacy and numeracy test (LANTITE) requirements.
