Our support enables participants to live a rewarding life that focuses on their interests, choices, and rights every day. Our support workers, known as Residential Care Officers, enrich clients' lives by ensuring they have the opportunity and support, tailored to their individual needs, to explore and participate in all aspects of their life. Our services include support for independent living (accommodation support). Passionate about supporting people with disability Positive attitude Good relationship builder Effective communicator Able to show initiative Flexible Well organised Team player Our Disability Support Workers Have The Following Opportunities Award wages that include shift allowances, penalties, and other allowances such as meals and clothing as they apply under the Award for Operational Employees in Disability and Forensic Services – State 2016 Flexible shifts Excellent job resources and personal development opportunities Two weeks of paid induction and upon successful completion of induction up to one week of paid service centre training Ongoing specialised accredited training and professional development to ensure highly skilled workforce Access to QSuper for superannuation, life, and illness insurance Access to Accumulated Time Work (ATW) of 13 days per year Five weeks per year of vacation time when working full shift rotation Responsibilities Performing daily household tasks with participants that can include menu planning, cooking, and serving meals, cleaning, shopping, laundry, bed making and light garden activities Assisting participants to maintain relationships with their family, friends, and advocates Helping participants develop and maintain personal independence within their home with personal hygiene, grooming, toileting, showering and safe and enjoyable mealtimes Assisting participants in their personal and health care by providing support with medication ensuring correct dosages as prescribed, seizure response, and health needs Application Process Read the Disability Support Worker role profile and applicant guide Complete and submit your Smart Jobs online application and attach requested documents: Cover letter Resume Complete the casual Disability Support Worker compulsory questionnaire emailed after the submission of your Smart Jobs application.
