Consulting Arborist — Full time permanent role Qualifications: AQF Level 5 or above Location: Hybrid based out of or near Brisbane working in southeast Queensland. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: Your broad construction knowledge and understanding of planning controls along with technical understanding of AS will help provide thorough clear steps to protect trees on small- to large-scale developments. Candidates must demonstrate working knowledge of construction practices and development processes to effectively advise on tree protection during building projects. Your understanding of tree biology and practical experience of assessing trees in southeast Queensland or similar environments will assist in clear advice towards managing tree health, condition and risk. A minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in tree risk assessment is essential for this role. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct tree surveys, arboricultural assessments Prepare technical reports, tree protection and management plans utilising custom templates. Provide expert advice on tree health, risk assessment and management strategies. Liaise with clients, regulators, and contractors. Supervise pre-construction, construction and post-construction. Deliver projects within agreed timelines. Soil amelioration work, tree health improvements including aeration and soil conditioning. Use diagnostic tools including resistograph ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: AQF Level 5 or higher in arboriculture or related discipline Formal qualification in tree risk assessment e.g TRAQ or QTRA Valid drivers licence Strong knowledge of tree biology, species identification and remedial works Advanced expertise in the following: Tree condition and health assessment Tree risk assessment Geographic Information System spatial analysis and mapping. Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently. Experience with data collection and reporting for diverse sites (including private residences, commercial sites, and local government/ crown land) Competency in Microsoft Excel and Word and QGIS (training provided as needed).
