You will be responsible for developing innovative content concepts and producing material that reinforces FOX SPORTS’ reputation as a dynamic and forward‑thinking media business. You will be instrumental in crafting and editing compelling, exclusive, and original editorial content for all foxsports.com.au platforms, while also supporting our vibrant social media channels. Your primary focus will be on delivering timely, high‑quality coverage that not only elevates user engagement but also expands our dedicated audience base. Reporting to the Managing Editor, this fast‑paced and challenging position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on our digital presence and the way fans experience NRL. Responsibilities Produce, commission, and edit high‑quality, timely content across all foxsports.com.au platforms, focusing on optimising user engagement, expanding our audience, and boosting subscriptions to Foxtel & Kayo products. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of key sports issues and events, ensuring swift and impactful coverage of breaking news, live events and trending topics. Strategically promote content on our website and across social media channels, leveraging compelling headlines, engaging story sells, and impactful imagery and video. Proactively assess digital readership metrics to understand evolving user trends, inform content decisions and consistently deliver what our audience desires. Develop fresh, engaging and uniquely formatted material that solidifies Fox Sports News’ position as the benchmark in sports entertainment. Collaborate closely with Producers and Executive Producers to cultivate a consistent style and tone that aligns seamlessly with the FOX SPORTS brand identity and aspirations. Provide essential editorial and technical guidance and support to the broader editing team. Demonstrate a strong understanding of sports and media broadcasting concepts and values. Qualifications 2+ years’ experience reporting at a digital sports news network. Proven track record of working in an innovative news environment, crafting compelling narratives and captivating audiences. In‑depth knowledge of a broad range of sports, with a particular focus on NRL. Extensive experience utilising social media to share stories and direct traffic to websites and applications. A genuine passion for sports and an ability to communicate that enthusiasm to a wide audience. A strong desire to innovate and approach storytelling with fresh, distinctive and exceptional ideas. A proactive team player who can manage multiple sports and events concurrently with energy and drive. A bachelor’s degree in Journalism, PR, Communications or a similar field.
