Position Overview With growing demand and continued squad expansion, MSC is seeking a Lead Coach to oversee and deliver high‑quality training programs across our key venues in Melbourne’s Inner Eastern Suburbs, including Kew, Toorak, and Richmond. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the swimmer experience and driving athlete development across multiple locations. This full‑time position is ideal for an experienced and motivated coach who demonstrates initiative, strong leadership, and a commitment to athlete growth, team collaboration, and program consistency. We are open to discussing part‑time arrangements with the successful candidate to ensure the best fit. Key Responsibilities Deliver high‑quality, structured coaching sessions aligned with squad objectives. Plan and implement seasonal training programs and competition calendars. Provide clear, constructive feedback to swimmers and families. Mentor assistant coaches and maintain effective communication with key stakeholders. Attend swim meets, training camps, and club events as required. Handle administrative tasks and member communications for Melbourne Swimming Club and Melbourne Swimming Academy (e.g., responding to phone and email enquiries). Qualifications and Experience Swim Australia Coach Accreditation (Development level or higher). Current Provide CPR (HLTAID009) and Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) certificates. Working With Children Check (VIC, Employee). Minimum three years of coaching experience. Preferred: Current Pool Lifeguard Certificate. Preferred: Experience coaching in school or club squad programs. Skills and Attributes Strong knowledge of stroke technique, training methodology, and programming. Excellent communication and leadership abilities. Professional, reliable, and organised approach to work. Commitment to continuous learning and improvement. Ability to work collaboratively within a coaching team and engage positively with swimmers and families.
