Royal Geelong Agricultual and Pastoral Society – Breakwater VIC The Geelong Showgrounds is a regional multi-purpose community, recreational and event facility. Located on a 35-acre site on Breakwater Road, the Showgrounds is home to the largest regional Royal Agricultural Show in Australia. Founded in 1855, the Royal Geelong Agricultural & Pastoral Society Inc. is a not-for-profit organisation and custodian of the Geelong Showgrounds. The Society’s mission is to encourage and promote excellence in Agriculture, Business, Cultural and Community activities in the Geelong region and is supported by its members and an active volunteer base. The Society has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Grounds Coordinator to take responsibility for the presentation, cleanliness and general maintenance of the Geelong Showgrounds. Role & Responsibilities: The Grounds Coordinator is responsible for operational property and maintenance matters, including general care and cleaning of all grounds and facilities and day-to-day property and equipment maintenance. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Clean and maintain common area facilities for campers and the administration offices Coordination of volunteer groups and contract workers from time to time Undertake various reactive maintenance tasks and requests that are within the scope of the role Ensure that grounds are presented in a tidy and professional manner Maintain lawns, gardens, edges, and buildings within the Showgrounds Engage and supervise contractors and specialist trades as required Offer practical assistance and basic customer service to campers and visitors Assist the Showgrounds team and clients with event setup Operate and care for the Showground’s machinery and coordinate periodical servicing Organise and assess quotes for minor capital works and specialist trades Monitor and maintain stock of consumables such as cleaning products, fuel, and event related resources.
