Southern Koala and Echidna Rescue Ltd – Hackham SA SKER delivers wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, research & re-vegetation activities across the southern metropolitan region. 100% volunteer run, they provide the community with 24/7 advice & help with all wildlife, specialising in koalas and echidnas. Responsibilities As a Browse Collection Team Member, you will work with their network of landowners to source fresh eucalyptus leaves for the koalas on a daily basis. Each member will be assigned a regular day of the week. The role requires physical fitness similar to a garden maintenance role. Activities include: Driving to the allocated collection site Identifying the best quality leaves within reach Cutting branches from ground level using hand secateurs, pole secateurs or a pole chainsaw (provided) Washing down the leaves onsite and loading branches into storage containers with fresh water Even though there is no direct contact with animals in this role, you will play a very important part in the rehabilitation of the animals through the nutrition provided.
