Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for leading and achieving Plungie’s Global operational deliverables to clearly align with the company’s commercial, customer and cultural priorities. Plungie is an entrepreneurial, innovative and dynamic success story with a dream to make pool ownership more achievable. Like all good ideas, Plungie was born one balmy Queensland evening over a couple of brews between three friends with an ambition to disrupt what was an antiquated and outdated industry. Coming from engineering, fabrication, and construction backgrounds, the three mates set out to create an innovative, scalable solution so that more Aussies could enjoy their own backyard pool. After two years of intense research, product development, and sleepless nights - the very first Plungie was hand-built in 2018. Fast forward to now, Plungie is an award-winning, world-first product that’s pioneering the future of swimming pools in Australia and the United States with ambitious goals for growth and diversification. The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a critical member of the executive leadership team, responsible for a dispersed, multi-disciplinary team; and accountable for the development and implementation of Global Operations and Manufacturing strategy, to drive Plungie’s growth and transformation agenda. They will provide clarity of direction and supportive leadership to a management team across multiple sites in both Australia and the US, creating outcomes across the manufacturing spectrum including continuous improvement, quality, innovation and safety to inspire manufacturing excellence. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in a senior Operations leadership role, knowledge of the Building Materials industry with deep, contemporary manufacturing experience; along with an understanding of the broader Building & Construction sector. The ability to thrive in a fast changing, fast moving environment is essential, as is the intellect, executive maturity and humility required to add value to the broader function and company, as a member of the executive leadership team.
