Senior Functional Analyst, Student Solutions Location: Kensington, Sydney (with option to work remotely; expectation to be in office during critical project activities such as go‑live). This role is based in Australia. Overview The Senior Functional Analyst – Student Solutions partners with university stakeholders to deliver expert functional analysis, design, configuration, and support for UNSW’s student enterprise systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and meet evolving business needs. This position reports to the Lead Functional Analyst and has no direct reports. Key Accountabilities Partner with customers and stakeholders to design and develop solutions to meet business needs. Perform a lead role in IT Student Solutions projects working collaboratively with project managers, vendors and business users to ensure successful outcomes. Provide expert level advice and guidance to users on system issues, particularly with respect to our implementation of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions and StudyLink. Design, configure and test PeopleSoft Campus Solutions and StudyLink applications. Ensure system configuration operates in line with user needs, maximises PeopleSoft, StudyLink and other products’ delivered functionality. Ensure the performance and integrity of UNSW student systems so that they provide accurate and efficient outputs that meet stakeholder needs across the organisation. Proactively engage and collaborate with users and customers to gather business requirements, assess processes and assist with solution design. Build, manage, and maintain successful relationships with stakeholders including business process owners, customers, technical analysts, developers and Student Services & Systems teams. Your Skills and Experience Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or equivalent experience. At least 5 years of functional experience with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions in a senior business analyst or functional consultant role within a complex higher education organisation. Prior experience in the implementation or support of the StudyLink application. Extensive knowledge of and experience in agile, waterfall, lean or rapid application development methodologies. Well‑developed skills in standard office toolsets including drawing/diagramming tools (e.g., Visio). Advanced consultation, influencing and negotiation skills and proven ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to developing robust solutions. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to establish effective working relationships. Understanding and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values together with relevant policies and guidelines. Highly Desirable TCSI reporting and deep understanding of the data underlying TCSI reporting. Experience integrating Campus Solutions with external systems across the whole student lifecycle.
