Overview Public Health Nurse / Registered Nurse – Full-Time Contract : October 13, to November 2, – Geraldton The Thunder Bay District Health Unit is seeking a Public Health Nurse / Registered Nurse (full‑time contract) in our Geraldton Office. Reporting to the Manager, Oral Health and District Offices, the Public Health Nurse provides public health programs and services focused on health protection, promotion and maintenance, disease and injury prevention, and community participation and development. Public Health Nursing practice is based on primary health prevention and is population‑focused. Occasional travel within the District is required. Responsibilities The Public Health Nurse is responsible for delivering public health programs and services related to health protection, promotion and maintenance, disease and injury prevention, and community participation and development. The role is grounded in the primary health prevention model and a population focus. Specific responsibilities may include planning, implementing and evaluating public health initiatives in collaboration with community partners, and contributing to population health surveillance and health equity efforts. Travel Occasional travel within the District is required.
