We are looking for a Senior Biosecurity Officer to join our high‑performance team at Biosecurity QLD – Animal Biosecurity and Welfare Operational team. Responsibilities Addressing issues of high biosecurity risk/complexity and/or requiring a level of specialist technical capability Gathering evidence to assist investigations of potential legislative breaches (e.g., field observations, sample collection, witness statements/interviews) Undertaking compliance activities under Queensland legislation: Animal Care and Protection Act 2001 and the Biosecurity Act 2014 Having thorough knowledge and skills relating to administration and compliance with relevant legislation and associated internal procedures and systems (e.g., exercise of powers, auditing, investigation, conducting interviews, collecting evidence and witness statement, preparing court briefs, use of BQ Case Management) Being a participant and contributing to disease surveillance and emergency response activities, which may include collection of samples from live and deceased animals Why Work for Us Work with passion and purpose Have a tangible impact, for today and tomorrow Enjoy interesting, diverse work Follow your path wherever it leads Get the flexibility and support you need to thrive Be part of our one, diverse DPI Seniority level Not Applicable Employment type Full‑time Job function Other, Information Technology, and Management Industries Government Administration Occupational group Primary Industry & Environment Applications will remain current for 12 months. #J-18808-Ljbffr
