Located southwest of Townsville, the Pajingo mine is around 50km from Charters Towers and employs approximately 250 people to run the underground mining, open cut, and ore processing operations. Charters Towers is close to Townsville and the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef, and it offers all the facilities you would expect in a large regional town.

The role is residential/DIDO or FIFO from the East Coast based in Charters Towers working a 8/6 or 12/9 roster

About the role:Determine the Geology strategy including mine geology, resource definition and exploration for site in conjunction with the Site General ManagerDevelop and manage systems for measuring geological operational performance against targets and design and implement corrective action to address variances.Interpret and analyse the results of drilling and other geological and geotechnical informationIdentify all legal and regulatory requirements applicable to activities in area of responsibility and ensure compliance with these.Lead and engage the team professionals, building capabilities and developing a high performance and integrated Geology team.Develop and maintain contingency plans and emergency-preparedness procedures in respect of identified potential risks/threats.About you:Relevant Geological QualificationsAt least 10 years of mining industry experience in a geotechnical capacity with proven knowledge in both Open Cut and Underground mining methodsExperience with geotechnical investigations and interpretation (both underground and open-cut)Understanding of statutory requirementsGeotechnical core logging and assessment of core samplesAbility to work underground and complete face mapping.Benefits:With a competitive remuneration package and challenging work environment with a growing, vibrant company where your skills can make a difference, this is a great opportunity to join this high-performing, close-knit team of HST professionals and to play a role in developing a culture of excellence in safety that motivates and inspires those around you.Report this job advert
