About The National School of Allied Health The National School of Allied Health is located on six of the University's campuses: Brisbane, Strathfield, North Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and Ballarat and delivers programs in four professional disciplines: Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Physiotherapy and Social Work / Human Services. About the role Creation of a talent pool for Casual Academics in Social Work Educators, for face-to-face and/or Online work, lecturing, online facilitation, field education related work, tutoring and/or marking. Responsibilities Face-to-face and/or Online teaching in the Bachelor of Social Work and/or Master of Social Work programs Lecturing, online facilitation, field education related work, tutoring and/or marking You will need to have Qualification: Social work professional qualification or closely related field (post-qualification higher degree required for casual work in the Master of Social Work degree) Teaching and Facilitation Skills: Ability to explain complex concepts in an engaging and accessible way; Facilitate discussions; Provide constructive feedback on student work; Follow lesson plans and support learning objectives Communication & Academic Skills: Strong written and verbal communication; Experience with academic writing and referencing (APA 7th); Ability to engage with diverse student groups Technology & Admin Skills: Competence with Learning Management Systems (Canvas); Ability to use Zoom/Teams; Basic admin tasks such as marking, attendance tracking, and student queries Academic and Theoretical Knowledge: Familiarity with core social work theories; Understanding of ethics and professional standards (AASW Code of Ethics); Knowledge of policy frameworks and legislation relevant to social work in Australia Practical & Industry Experience: Experience in social work practice; Understanding of case management, assessments, and intervention strategies; Familiarity with field education and placement requirements Commitment to the University’s Mission and Catholic ethos; commitment to cultural diversity and ethical practice; familiarity with equal employment opportunity and workplace health and safety The University pursues an excellence agenda and offers an environment where staff are welcomed and safe, and valued through development, participation and involvement.
