Company Profectus Location Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia Job Title Cloud Specialist Overview Profectus is an Australian technology and professional services organisation delivering secure, scalable, and innovative ICT solutions across government and critical infrastructure sectors. With a strong record of supporting Defence digital transformation programs, we are looking to expand our service offerings further, within the Microsoft Azure, Entra ID and M365 environments. Key Roles Azure Cloud Architects – secure solution design and governance implementation. Azure / Entra ID Engineers – identity, access, and hybrid integration. Cloud Security Specialists – Defender suite, Sentinel SIEM, and Zero Trust operations. DevOps Engineers / Automation Specialists – IaC and CI/CD pipeline development. Cloud Infrastructure Engineers – compute, networking, and platform optimisation. Service Delivery & Support Specialists – ITIL-based operations and incident management. Azure Cloud Architecture & Implementation: Design, deploy and manage IaaS, PaaS and hybrid environments aligned with Defence governance and CAF landing zone frameworks. Identity & Access Management (Entra ID): Conditional Access, PIM/PAM, federation, MFA and hybrid AD synchronisation. Automation & Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, Ansible, PowerShell and Python scripting. DevOps Practices: CI/CD pipelines via Azure DevOps or GitLab; automated testing and deployment; secure code integration. Security & Compliance: Implementation of ISM and Essential Eight controls; Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, Key Vault, and compliance policy management. Cloud Networking & Integration: ExpressRoute, Private Link, Application Gateway, Firewall Manager, VPN Gateway, and hybrid connectivity. Monitoring & Optimisation: Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights and FinOps cost management. Documentation & Governance: High- and low-level design (HLD/LLD), standard operating procedures (SOPs), and configuration baselines aligned with Defence frameworks. Service Management & Stakeholder Engagement: ITIL-aligned service operations, risk and change control, and cross-domain collaboration within secure environments. Qualifications & Certifications Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer (AZ-500) Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect (AZ-305) Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator (SC-300) ITIL v3/v4 Foundation VMware VCP, AWS Associate or equivalent cross-cloud certification Current NV2 Security Clearance (minimum) Demonstrated experience delivering Azure or hybrid cloud solutions within Defence or Federal Government Strong understanding of ISM, PSPF, and Essential Eight compliance frameworks Why Profectus Joining Profectus means contributing to projects that shape the future of secure Defence ICT.
