About the role We are seeking an experienced Sales & Distribution Manager to join our team at McHenry Hohnen Vintners at our Margaret River winery. This is a full-time, permanent position based in our picturesque Margaret River location, Western Australia. Reporting directly to senior management, you will oversee the development and execution of innovative sales and distribution initiatives, drawing on your industry expertise to identify and capitalise on emerging market opportunities. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners such as our National Distributor to optimise existing channels and implement new strategies that support our commitment to quality, sustainability, and growth. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving brand recognition, expanding our reach both locally and nationally, and ensuring that McHenry Hohnen Vintners continues to set benchmarks within the Australian wine industry. What we're looking for Significant experience (5+ years) in a sales and distribution management role, preferably within the wine or beverage industry, will enable you to draw on a well-developed network and comprehensive industry insights to shape innovative approaches for expanding our market presence. Your background will ensure you are adept at identifying emerging opportunities and navigating the complexities of both local and national distribution landscapes, positioning McHenry Hohnen Vintners for continued growth and enhanced brand recognition. Proven track record of driving sales growth and developing successful distribution channels, complemented by strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking skills, is essential for this role. Solid understanding of sales tools is essential, enabling you to leverage analytics platforms to streamline processes and enhance performance. Excellent relationship management and negotiation capabilities, coupled with proficiency in data analysis and the ability to use insights to inform decision-making, are crucial for success in this role. Outstanding organisational and project management skills, a passion for the wine industry, and a deep understanding of the Australian wine market will support you in developing and implementing effective sales and distribution strategies that drive growth and expand our distribution channels, increasing both sales and margins. What you'll be doing You will be proactively identifying and pursuing untapped market segments, leveraging your industry knowledge and insights to forge strategic partnerships that enhance our competitive edge. By closely monitoring performance metrics and customer feedback, you will adjust tactics as needed to ensure our sales and distribution initiatives align with evolving market demands and uphold our reputation for quality. Your ability to foster strong relationships with key wholesale customers including national retailers, bottle shops and restaurants in sync with our Distribution Partners in Australia and Internationally. Support seamless cross-functional collaboration will be fundamental in delivering outstanding service, enabling McHenry Hohnen Vintners to continually exceed targets and adapt to new opportunities in a dynamic industry landscape. Overseeing and optimising our supporting services for local customers, including packing and delivery, as well as managing logistics and fulfilment operations for domestic and international markets, is central to maintaining our commitment to service excellence. In addition, analysing market trends and customer data to identify new business opportunities and inform strategic decision-making will enable us to stay ahead of industry developments and tailor our strategies for long‑term success. Collaborating closely with the marketing team to develop and execute integrated promotional campaigns and reporting weekly and monthly on all revenue streams with all teams, ensures transparency and alignment across departments. Managing our Wine Club in partnership with marketing and ensuring compliance with all relevant industry regulations and company policies further strengthens our operational capabilities and fosters a culture of continuous improvement. In addition to these core responsibilities, you will play an integral role in fostering a positive team culture that values open communication, continuous improvement, and shared success. Your proactive approach to problem‑solving and commitment to professional development will help maintain high standards within the team while also supporting our broader organisational goals. By championing best practices in sustainability and customer service, you will contribute to strengthening McHenry Hohnen Vintners' reputation for excellence in the industry, ensuring our continued growth and ongoing success.
