Role The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) is an integral role within our health services. Under the direction of the Director of Nursing (DON), the NUM has a strong leadership role and assumes responsibility for the day to day operational and clinical management of nursing, personal care and clerical services. As a leader, the NUM exhibits effective communication and problem-solving skills and a keen understanding of the dynamic nature of the health sector. A clear knowledge of clinical governance, an ability to instigate change and delegate responsibilities, encourage professional development and enhance the quality of nursing practice are pivotal to the role of the NUM. Essential to the role is to foster an inter and multi-disciplinary management approach, based on an understanding of the processes and systems involved in the provision of quality and our person centred care model embodying safe patient and resident care. Statement Details of Appointment : Permenant Full-time position working 80 hours per fortnight with an ADO each 4 weeks. Working week consists of 4 x days clinical and 1 day management Salary NM10 $ - NM11 $ per hour, dependent on experience + superannuation About CHRH Central Highlands Rural Health (CHRH) is a rural health organisation that operates five campuses across Hepburn Shire and the Macedon Ranges in the Central Highlands of Victoria in Australia, north and north‑west of Melbourne.
