Mobile Crane Allocator

Established in 1980, Borger Cranes is one of the largest family-owned mobile crane operators in Australia with over 10 depots across NSW and QLD. Position Borger Cranes is looking for a permanent full time Mobile Crane Allocator to support the Allocations Team working on a rotating roster: various shifts covering 5am to 8pm M-F; and various shifts to cover night based monitoring of the phones between 8pm and 5am; and alternative weekend monitoring of the phones shared in the team. The position is located in our Singleton Depot and off-street parking will be provided. Our ideal candidate is someone who is mature, ethical, can manage tight deadlines and competing priorities. Remuneration will be commensurate with experience. Key Responsibilities Liaise with clients, prospective clients and supervisors via email, phone or in person to take enquiries and bookings for the fleet which include cranes, trucks, equipment and staff. Ensure all necessary information about a job has been obtained, recorded and booked into the allocation system as soon as possible. Monitoring bookings and coordinate the daily mobile crane allocations across Hunter Valley region including the supporting transport and the associated lifting and rigging equipment and personnel in an efficient and effective manner. Responding to client enquiries, managing the daily schedule of the fleet and reviewing dockets for accuracy etc. Abilty to assist and communciate with all team members for shift handovers and share logistical requirements. Working to ensure compliance with all NHVR and WHS requirements Provide status updates to clients as needed and in accordance with KPIs. Planning the setup and pack up of cranes, trucks and equipment as well as logistical arrangements. Answering the phones out of normal work hours to allocate and coordinate shifts if needed. Required to be on call on a rotating roster for weekend work to allocate and coordinate shifts if needed. Skills & Experience Proven expereince in crane allocations, logistics coordination or similar scheduler roles. Familiarity with scheduling software and operational systems Strong understanding of compliance and safety requirements in crane operations. Knowledge of or willing to learn risk management applicable to the crane industry. Effective and positive communicator. Ability to deal with competing priorities, tight deadlines and working well under pressure. The ability to be flexible and have great multitasking skills. Reliability and punctuality with a willingness to work weekends. Must be a team player acknowledging that all employees work together to bring and deliver our services to our clients. High attention to detail and driven to deliver business outcomes that exceed client expectations. Ability to multi-task and work within a fast-paced environment. Ability to stay calm and perform under pressure. High level of enthusiasm and positivity. High level problem solving skills and good negotiation skills. Desirable - Knowledge of the ISO 9001:2016 Quality Management System. Desirable - Good knowledge of the relevant Work Health and Safety legislation or willingness to learn. Desirable – First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain Desirable – Certificate IV in Work, Health and Safety or willingness to gain within a 6-12 month timeframe. Personal Specifications Intermediate to advanced skills across Microsoft Office 365 suite of products including Word, Excel and Outlook. Quickly adapts to new technology and systems and is comfortable trying new systems. High level of professional communication and writing skills.
